Going to try making a T/D recurve. What type of drilling jig do you recommend for limbs? The OMC drilling jig was rated highly but they dont sell them anymore.
There are several self centering dowel drilling jigs, any of these better than the rest? Task, Dowl-it, Woodcraft, Grizzly?
I could have one machined but don't know what to tell the machinist, if you have specs I may go that route.
Also, what are the common hole sizes and recommended spacing?
Thanks for your help.

Dang I was gonna say the OMC one has worked well for me. Guess I got lucky and ordered it earlier this year. Maybe you can find a used on here to purchase. I love mine and it is very accurate if your material is all square.

I was thinking about buying the OMC jig after researching threads here but since they are gone I bet most will hold on to them. I do have a hunting bud who is a machinist so if I get decent design specs I may go that route.

Looks like the alignment pins are 1/4" and the bolts are 5/16". What drill size for the bushing that holds the bolt?
-
27/64" drill and a 1/2" tap

I use the Task. It is very well made and works.

1/2-13 I believe

Thanks everyone, ordered a Dowl-it to start. I'll update after I get some practice with it.

OMC was purchased by Jim Belcher. They still market the jig if the other ideas donot work out.

Thanks M60, I sent Belcher an email to see if they have one in stock, that was my first choice.

Anyone have pics of the OMC jig in action?

Ed was driving through my area on the way to hunt this weekend and we were able to meet up and I picked one up. Also he was nice enough to show me how to use the jig properly.
Here are a few pics, these are really nice and well thought out, couldn't be happier with the product. Also, the limbs will be interchangeable with other bows made on the same jig.
Thanks Edward!
