Made a stop at Rosewood to see Mike and "just look" yesterday. He has a little osage.

Wowza
-
There are probably a few good selfbows along those edges.
-
OMG....................
Send me one, David.. :)
-
Plenty of bows in there for sure, but I also see a gorgeous live edge dining table or two.
I love big slabs of wood.
Dave.

Looks like it's water damaged. He'd better send it to me for proper disposal :biglaugh:

Looks like osage grows pretty big in Arkansas, nice looking stuff for sure.

Mike is just west of Springfield in Halltown, MO and yes the osage grows big there. He said that that was the second log on the tree. He estimated the weight at 10,000 lb. Those planks were around 3" x 14" x 10'.
Roy your freight bill is $1000.00 :goldtooth:
Dave, you and I think alike. I am working on my youngest daughter a dining room table tonight. I did check with Mike on some material for another table. May get some spalted pecan from him this winter.

Ah come on, David. Haul it up here for me.. :)
-
Man, if that 14" x 10' log weighed 10,000, I'd hate to think what I had on my trailer that time I hauled to the mill!! :scared:
Nice looking osage, that stuff is hard to get good stuff from.

I've been eyeing up the ancient remnants of a row of osage, biggest I've seen, that would make boards like that no problem... assuming they're solid inside. I had permission to cut, then the fella died. Now his grandson owns the farm. I need to stop back in some time. But now I have a new issue, I'm running out of room to put wood
-
Jeff, you can store your extra Osage here at my place... :)

Thanks Roy. I knew I could count on you.
