Have you ever started a bow then not been sure if you like it or not. I started working on something I've been thinking about for some time now. It has turned out very well to what I had in my minds eye. But since it has begun to take shape I'm having doubt if I am liking it. Has anyone had it happen?
-
Show a pic... Ill make up your mind for ya. Lol.
-
A couple, try not to be against it til you shoot it. :)
-
I agree with Kenny, if it shoots good you can overlook a lot. LOL
-
Glass or wood? Good advice above about not judging until you shoot it. Our imaginations can be pretty obscure sometimes but you never know til you try.
-
That describes all of my personal bows. Friends and relatives snap up the nice ones.
But, like Kenny said, shooting can make it more satisfactory. :)

It's a glass bow haven't made limbs yet just working on the riser. It is going to be a static tip. I wanted a dark wood bow. The wood block that I used is exactly what I wanted it to br. I put waterbuffalo horn on it. The horn is what I'm not sure of. I will see about posting a pic or two.

I'm bettin on ya Mike!! It will be good.....
Oh, and I bet some finish will make the horn just right!!

Thank Kenny. I put a little sealer on the riser. The black and white ebony is what I think the veneers will be. It needs a lot more sanding maybe it will grow on me.
-
You know, you're right. There is just something about that riser....
Maybe you should send it to me here in Canada so you'll never have to see it again. ;)
I think it rocks! I'm still working to build risers that nice.

Thanks wood carver. The riser has turned out well. I just not sure it's what I had in mind. Ithink the horn on the shelf might be to much.Should have thinned the horn overlays more. I will just have to finish It and see what we get.
-
I love the horn and over all color combos
-
Are you kidding? This is a beautiful riser!
I think this one looks great but it will also looks great without the horn or thinner ones.
It's a personal thing, if you like bells and whistles or not!
But If you are thinking about thats too much, I would go on the safer side.
It would be a pity if the bow is finished and you're constantly asking, do I like it ore not!
my 2 cents

I like it! If the horn was sanded smoother on its edges was the only thing I'd do. I saw you said it needed more sanding so you are way ahead of me.
-
I think it looks very good! I would be proud to be seen in public with it.
-
I mean if you don't like it I wouldn't mind if it made its way to West Virginia. That thing looks amazing man.
-
Guess i could take it off your hands! You dont want to have to look at that thing all the time knowing you could have done better. Ill send my address. Lol.
-
Thanks everyone. I will finish it and not judge it till I shoot it. You all have built my confidence that it will be all right.I told myself it's the last bow I build and keep. I just want it to be right.
-
It's dark wood and horn , can't really see Mike.
They always look good

Well I think I have fixed the issues I had with the horn. I had just enough left to try again. Fingers crossed I shall see when the glue is set. Its the first time I put horn on a bow. I think a bigger horn would have helped out. But live and learn I guess.
