Does anybody use a Router Copy/Duplicators Machine for their risers?
-
Nope, but I'm all ears.....
You could just get a CNC machine and I'll send my risers to ya.... :goldtooth:

Yes I just finished my riser fixtures for a footed riser that will be cut on a router table with a flush cut bit. The patterns were made using the washer system because I don't have access to any high tech system. The first riser has turned out good. I will be glad to share pictures with you, but first I need to take the pictures and then someone will need to teach me how to send them to the bowyer's bench. I'll get some pictures as soon as possible and we'll se how it goes.

I'm sorry Mark I misunderstood your question. I do'nt use a duplicator machine. I use a router to cut the ajoining surfaces of the footed riser
because it is much faster than sanding and more accurate. Just forget my post.

Send them on down
You might not get them back

That's cool, I bet you can make one! I'll send you a block to test on! :)

I have been wanting to make one.
and I found most of the parts.
But I can't find the time
The guy told me has sold a lot of these to people making bow's
So speak up. :)

I think there are kits for CNC router beds that are not much more than that duplicator, maybe $2k. Does look cool though.
A CNC router would be awesome, but then you also have to be pretty computer savvy, a duplicator is mechanical so probably much easier to pilot.

I have done machine work for many years but no CNC
I all so want to make a gun stock

I have some pics you might like. If someone could post them for me, don't remember how to do it.
