...........shaved my head, 10 minutes before going into the workcave to sand a load of cocbolo knife handles. The irritant properties of this wood just aren't properly documented. I now have a pimply rash running from my chinny-chin-chin, right up me face, over me once shiny dome of a head & right down the back of me neck. It's itching like nothing on earth!!! (& ruining me boyish good looks) :knothead:
Not archery related per-say, but I needed to vent. (& scratch, rub me eyes, wipe me nose, cough, scratch again & bathe in calamine lotion, whilst drinking a cocktail of 20 year old scotch & Piriton)
Remember folks, if you're working with exotic hardwoods, wear a dustmask, goggles & gloves. And a hat. And probably a wetsuit :D
Your mixing 20 year old Scotch????????? :scared:
Hey, my eyes are that puffed up I can hardly see the bottle! :D
That will teach ya to wear a hat :) Can't believe you'd do that to 20 year old scotch....
How dare you, mixing 20 year old scotch, give that bottle :campfire:
Bet you don't do that again anytime soon. Hope it clears up for you soon. Put some calamine on it.
Need to get to the Doc Cocobola can mess you up!!!!!
Is this a "Normal" Reaction to Cocobola? I know some of the Exotics will Irritate the Eyeballs and Breathing Apperati, but this Sounds like an "Allergic Reaction" to Me!! :scared: :scared:
I am NOT a Doctor, but I raised 4 Kids, you pick up Bits of Medical Knowledge as You Go.
Go get Benedril (sp?) it will ease the itch and help you heal up. But it will make you sleepy.
Osage can irritate too. Be Careful
I'm not that irritating! :smileystooges:
HMMMMMM Scotch only thing better is sipping tequilla
LOL Joe, You havent irratated Me. :D
I'm still trying to figure out what Piriton is. Perdition? Pyrethrins? Partitions? Pyorrhea? Perrier?
Killdeer
(mixing 20 year old scotch...well, maybe it was lousy scotch to begin with!

20 years don't necessarily make something good. I know plenty of humans that old who could use some watering down!)
Paragoric? :saywhat:
Mike Treadway , got a bad skin reaction from cocobolo...Get to Dr. if ya need to...he was down for 6 weeks!!!!
Proctoencapsulitis???? :jumper:
Man sorry to here that.....got any pics?!!! (just kidding)
Piriton is an over the counter antihysthamine. Supposedly stops & helps allergic reactions.
The really wierd thing is that I've worked cocobolo many times in the past & had no reaction whatsoever. I just can't figure out why it's happened this time.
