Title: Osage TD
Post by: PEARL DRUMS on July 27, 2016, 09:04:00 AM
Just wrapped this one up after a long, long build. Spent more time thinking than tinkering     ;)  . Its 67" ntn and draws 50 @ 28.5. The limbs are Osage sister billets and the I-beam riser is purple heart sandwiched between goncola alves. The skins are broad banded water snake. Clint will be along shortly to post pictures for me. I wouldn't use Photosuckit if my life depended on it!

Thanks for looking guys

That is a whole new genre of bows! The self-limb, exotic handle takedown somethingorother! Wow    :notworthy:

Thanks guys. Its a smooth shooter. A bit heavier mass wise than I'm used to my wood bows weighing, but that's all part of the 3 pc game I suppose. Some day I will make a few more sets of various all wood limbs for it. Maybe even get some glass limbs laid up one day.

The tinkering and thinking shows!

That is a leading edge piece of work.  I think we will be seeing it emulated in the future.

13" from tip to tip. I made it as short as I could. I knew my limbs were going to be long(er) and I tried to keep my O/A length respectable by shortening the riser. The limb beds are 3.0" long

Very nice work. Haven't built a takedown in a while but this is inspirational.

Really like that the limbs are self-limbs not laminated.

Benny I personally trust a solid osage self limb more than any combo of laminations and glue. That's just my take on it.

That's a mighty fine 3 piece you made!  I really like the the angle of the limbs off of the riser.

that is as nice a piece of creative thinking I've seen in a long time relating to bow making.I would love to try that some time but doubt I could get same result.

Well that just suck. The colour combination is infantile, the design is just sad and the tiller looks pathetic. The string alignment is crooked as a dogs hind leg and the overall look is just very sad. I cant believe you would post a bow like this, let alone send it to someone.

You should definitely take advantage of Razorbacks Bow Disposal Service. In the name of human decency, of course.

Great work again,  Chris.

You should post this beauty on the Powwow.

Extremely nice.  I've never done a takedown, how do you attach the limbs to the riser?

I attached them exactly the same way with the same hardware the glass guys use. Bingham sells the kit for maybe $16?

I shot it a bunch at a shoot this weekend, it shoots much better than I do.
