Title: favorite glove
Post by: oberon on March 07, 2008, 03:37:00 PM
Getting ready to purchase a new shooting glove.
Have been using a Damascus glove for years .
Thinking about the American Leathers Big Shot in buffalo or perchance the American Leathers  Howard Hill/Schultz style.  Both of the are available with the nylon inserts for a smoother release, have not used a glove with this would like to know how it feels. Would like to hear from any of you who have used either of them and your opinions.
would also like to hear of any other gloves that you think are good.
All the best,
Oberon

I've been using the American Leathers Schulz-Insert Shooting Glove from 3 Rivers for about 1 year now. I cannot say enough good things about this glove. LQQks as good as when I first purchased it.
I don't know how I shot other thinner gloves for so many years.   :knothead:
My fingers are diffinetly thanking me as I don't miss the calluses on the tips of my fingers.  :clapper:
It take a few arrows to break in, but after that ya set. Well work the $37.00.

I shoot a Big shot glove.  It took me a while to get used to it because it's a little thicker then what I was used to but now I love it and don't like anything else.

I've used a Howard Hill Deluxe for the last month, I had to cut the tips a little, then restitch the ends, so I could feel my fingers. Before that it was the Neet Cordovan glove.

I won one of the Shultz style my American Leathers at a banquet raffle and can not say enough about it.  I wholeheartedly agree with Kingstaken in his statements about the glove.

I was having some trouble with my fingers after shooting fast flight string ( oww oww owwy oww); I shoot 2 fingers; why I don't know.. anyway I took my damascus gloves and cut strips of the plastic used to hold plastic water bottles together. I sewed these strips into the damascus gloves fingers; and I can draw back without pain now.

IMO, American Leather's Full Shot is the best glove I have used! You can order it from 3 Rivers or on their website.

Cordovan gloves made by Bubba Bateman and sold by The Nocking Point. They are almost indestructable.

3 Rivers Dura Glove.  I have tried an ABS super glove that I don't like.  If anyone wants it, I'll take an offer.

I shoot a King model glove by PSE.  I've been shooting this glove for 3 years, and looks as good as new, and, I shoot just about every day, and 500 arrows per week.  Before that, I always used the cheap gloves by Allen or some other maker sold at the local sporting goods store.

The PSE cost only $15.00 and it's like new still.  I don't understand how everyone seems to wear out gloves so fast?  I would never spend $40.00 or more for a glove.
