Anyone know much about IMS bandsaws? I have found one,it is a 14", but before I go check it out I would like to know if anyone has used one or knows of someone who has. :dunno:
Thanks for any information.

Have Seen a few mentioned on the net.
I'd be concerned about parts and is the motor at least 1 HP.
-
It is a 3/4HP and I was checking on parts. Not so easy to find, so I think I have given up on it.

The new 14" Grizzly saws are usually recommended on the band saw threads. In 2009 I bought a 1980's 12" Craftsman saw 1/2 hp for $50.. I told the lady I would pay $100 but she wouldn't take it. I put a $120 carbide blade on it and a set of "cool blocks"..I made around 40 bows with it before getting a used 16" Grizzly. I still use the Craftsman for cutting glass/wood risers. I saw 2 craftsman 12" saws like mine on Craigslist in Arkanas, one is $280 the other $145..I also saw the IMS saw. Everything I do in my shop can been done with the 12" saw, but the 2 hp Grizzly with a 3 tpi blade get the most use.

Found a review on band saws online. 14" Grizzly was rated #1.

I LOVE my Grizzly!!!
It's the best bandsaw I ever owned. I split a 12 inch wide by 8 inch thick piece of wet doug fir in half and it felt like I was cutting air.
I cut a 6 inch wide veneer using a 1/4 inch blade. I can't wait to cut veneers with a dedicated blade.
I have owned and got rid of two other saws before getting this one. I'm keeping my grizz for life.

I think I did good today. Went to an auction looking for one thing came home with another. I got a Grizzly 14 1/2" runs great, it has a couple little parts missing but getting with Grizzly to see if I can get a parts list. I will post a picture when I figure out how. LOL been a while since I have.

Thank you sir, runs real smooth. I would like anyone out there and you Roy about best blades to bet. I will be working with some staves and up to 2" thick boards for bows. Don't think I will be using it on fiberglass, may, but not sure.

Nice saw, looks like you will be busy this spring cutting wood. I might have the same toro mower as yours..
-
If you didnt get the owners manual with the saw you can down load and copy it from Grizzly..
-
Yes I will, or at least I sure hope to. As for the mower, I sure like it myself.

1/2" 6 tpi would work. Buy a quality blade.

gotta buy 5 at a time --but great deal and better service--I like the ALL PRO blades
