Title: Check your collar
Post by: scottm on January 06, 2016, 09:45:00 PM
This is what may happen if you don't check your stop collar on your pattern bit.I bought a new bit and didn't think to check the set screw.   (http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu154/618scottm/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20160105_105051441.jpg) (http://s643.photobucket.com/user/618scottm/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20160105_105051441.jpg.html)

Thanks for the tip mike.it was going to be a pretty thick chunk of bondo so I just made a new template because it damaged it also and slid the new template down 3/4".I just posted this in the hopes that it would keep somone else from having whe same issue.  (http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu154/618scottm/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20160106_113544445.jpg) (http://s643.photobucket.com/user/618scottm/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20160106_113544445.jpg.html)

Seems everything that can go wrong does, especially when building forms.  I hate building forms more than any other part of bow making.  The second looks like it will be a good shooter, nice looking work area you got there Scott.

Thanks Jess.a person can't have too much room to work.no matter how big of shop I get, somone always sneeks in there(it must be at night Because I can't ever seem to catch him)and drags in more junk.man I wish I could catch the culprit!lol
