I've ordered a Rose Oak Wildcat and will be going with a bocote riser and bocote veneers for limbs. Any thoughts on the woods for the accents? I'm leaning towards bloodwood, but would like to hear other suggestions (as well as see pics if possible) that go well as accents with bocote.
Osage looks great with Bocote!
Back in a minute with pics :D
macasser ebony also looks good
Macasser Ebony, or Red or Dark Phase of Cocobolo.

Here y'go. A few pics of the new riser for my Horne longbow (not that I'm bragging or trying to show off or anything... :D :D )

Ziricote with osage would look sweet together with the Bacote for accents.Mostly Ziricote with some Osage mixed in.
Rob,
I don't normally like Osage but that looks really nice.
Thanks  A week in the Texas sun will age it up really, really quickly! When I first picked it up it was very yellow. It's mellowing very nicely!
Bocote and Cocobolo are a great combination.

Macassar ebony or ziricote
I saw a RER Arroyo with Bocote and Zircote and that was a looker.

Another vote for the cocobolo...
I have a bow made with Birds-eye maple limbs and Bacote handle and overlays...it looks amazing.
But if your looking for a great contrast then Cocobolo can't be beat IMHO.
Josh
I have made these bows last year October and November.

Cocobolo!!! But I really like Rob's bow with the Osage.

Osage...you won't regret it, gets better with age. I had a bow years back bocate riser with osage accents.
Blood wood would look good, but so would cocobolo.
Another option is wenge.

ebony!
I tried bocote and bloodwood and it didn't look that good. Most of the time a darker wood looks fine with bocote since it seems to bring out the dark color of the bocote.
I'll have to say that KnifeRiver's Bocote and Wenge bow is the most beautiful bow I have ever seen. That pic doesn't do it justice.
I was going to say Wenge as well. I had a Mantis takedown with that combo and it was a looker.
KnifeRiver,
That composition is EXCELLENT!!! I love the way you have the strings of opposite twist to balance it out and frame it PERFECTLY!! Being a string maker I notice those things. BTW- I build mine backwards of most and it looks like either you or someone else has at least built one twisted the direction I do. Pretty bows too!!!!

My former Silvertip with Bocote riser........can't remember the double wave wood!
Purpleheart would be nice...
Pau Ferro would look good
This one I made with Pau Ferro and Osage. The limbs are bacote veneer over bamboo. I agrre with T.J. Pau Ferro (Bolivian Rosewood) looks good. Mike

That bacote/wenge bow looks awesome. I normally dont care for wood combo's but that looks sweet. i could go for that.
