Post by: Pago on October 08, 2015, 01:09:00 AM
My Binghams order arrived, more building materials.

Pretty excited.

Padauk riser block, should I use the phenolic accent  strip I bought or the zebra wood packing material that came on the actionboo? Decisions.

Nice.  What are you going to build recurve or longbow?  Binghams are top notch.

This is the phenolic and what I believe is     zebra bocote side by side.

Here is the edge grain of the zebra bocote still protecting my actionboo tapers.

I'm thinking zebra bocote accent strip with phenolic before and after with zebra overlay on the handle and tips. Oh yeah black glass for the limbs.

Should be nice. I think what you beleive is Zebrano actually is Bocote.    :)

Waiting for a bow to cook is worse than watching paint dry.

Thanks y'all feels good to get one right. I carried it this weekend hunting Elk, nothing better. We will go back late this week to try and fill our bull tags. Unfortunately my kiddo has to go to school or we would be up there today!

What kit did you get?
I have not seen that one, the riser looks different.

I have a 58" Recurve Print # 301A3
21" riser
and 60" #301A1  22" riser

Mark,

It's a mix of designs from swissbow.net with the help from google translate. I cooked up the recipe, cut out of the limbs and riser with the help of friend, Jack Cramer.

They measure bows differently so a 52" is actually 57" measured NTN on the belly.

It has a 19" riser width of 1.5".

They have a lot of neat stuff on their site.
