Give me two years and I'll have it finished up.. :)
These were just cut yesterday in Ohio... I'll be using the one in the back ground first..
So stay tuned for monthly updates, LOL...

Well at least you're building. I thought you'd just given up, lol.
Glad to see you back in the selfbow game a bit too.
-
It better be worth the wait... :D
-
Looks like some fun times ahead, the one in the foreground looks especially challenging.
-
Well, I guess that will be OK. :D
-
LOL, Pat..
-
 touche' Pat
-
Don't ever just assume Roy is gonna turn a nice Osage log into selfbow staves. I've seen him slice 'n dice nicer pieces than that.
-
At your age,the bark will fall off before you get to it. Might wanna hire the beetles to get it off there.
-
What you waiting on? Get with it ol' timer!!!
-
Gone away hunten in two days, gotta get everything packed up...
McKenzie, don't make me come out there boy... :)
-
:D
-
Just as long as you aren't using "fake wood"! Lol
I guess I'll have to keep an eye on this one. I might learn something from the old man. I've got an Osage stave in the corner that keeps staring at me everytime I walk by. Need to do something with it sooner or later!

-
Started? They look like your finished bows to my eyes ol' man.
-
'cept for the pink camo!
-
Be e-nuff outta you two girls.... :)
-
Roy would you mind sharing your lam thicknesses again. You told me a while back that you decreased them from some of your earlier builds. I'm determined to complete a trilam.
-
Osage belly 1/4" parallel. Core lams 1/4" tapered to 1/8" at tips, start the taper at the end of the riser. Taper the bottom limb core lam 1/32" thinner than the top limb core lam. So taper it to 3/32".

Can ya give us that in thousandths? :D :D

ROFL!

Like someone said a few weeks back. Roy uses fractions of an inch to make it feel primitive.
-
No matter what he uses, you can't argue with his results. He makes a good looking bow.
-
I have one o his and it is a tremendous bow. Just don't tell him I said that....
-
x2
i second that kenny!
i love my "ol' fart" bow :)
-
What are you doing poaching osage on the other side of the big river?
Dave.
-
hey dave- how was yer moose hunt?
any luck
sure you had a grand ol' time as well.

The hunt was great! My partner and I had a staring contest with a 60 inch bull up close on Tuesday but not close enough to stick with an arrow. My buddy had two cows and a calf up close but had no tags for them, and another buddy got the best miss trophy this year. Twice for the same bull.
We saw a lot of eagles and a pair of timber wolves as well.
The boys got a few spruce grouse for a fry up too. I flung a lot of arrows but I couldn't kill any. I bonked one on the head with a judo but it got up and flew away. Tough little bugger!
And the chipmunks and whiskey jacks around our camp have high cholesterol now. :)
My truck looks like a garbage dump and it'll likely need a new windshield and I put about 4500 KMS on it in the last 10 days.
I love moose hunting!! Maybe by next year I'll feel like going again! ;)
Dave.
