Title: black limba riser picture

I finished this 58" recurve last night. Its for a friends wife. That's really nice! I'm just finishing a longbow with a black limba riser and it looks so different. Yours is dark, while mine looks somewhat like marble.
Beautiful wood with so many variations.

thanks for the nice comments. I hope my friends wife likes it too. I used Krystal Dull spray finish from Big Jim and my new mini HVLP spray gun. The finish came out a little textured but looks good to me..I might have had too much air pressure on the new gun, there is a learning curve.. From what I have read Black Limba and White Limba come from the same tree..The heart wood is darker and is called Black Limba. I just glued up a D/R longbow today with a nice zebrawood riser and East Indian Rosewood..Im thinking it should look pretty good too.
