I made a fiber glass Molly
62"NTN .300 stack
1-1/4" wide 3/16" at the tips
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/100_0685.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/100_0685.jpg.html)
I had some turquoise that I pounded to sand and I left some course
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0635.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0635.jpg.html)
I made a form and mixed it with smooth-on
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0636.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0636.jpg.html)
This is what I got
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0647.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0647.jpg.html)
Persimmon overlays
The tips are 3/16" wide and 5/8" at the tip (Static) fades
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/100_0686.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/100_0686.jpg.html)
I put some reflex in the tips
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/100_0688.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/100_0688.jpg.html)
The belly side painted
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/100_0689.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/100_0689.jpg.html)
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0658.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0658.jpg.html)

Copper head skins over black glass :(
It looks OK to me
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/100_0687.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/100_0687.jpg.html)
The form was 1-1/2" square tubing with a 1" block at each end for some reflex
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0629.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0629.jpg.html)
Ran it threw the thickness sander to clean it up
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0655.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0655.jpg.html)
Glued a pattern on for the tips
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0631.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0631.jpg.html)
Sanded to the lines
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0632.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0632.jpg.html)

yes
On picture # 6 you can see the stack all the way to the nock
The belly wood for the static tips is glued to the belly glass

I cut and sanded layers of sitka spruce for the tip bellys, glued them up and back on the form and in the oven
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0634.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0634.jpg.html)
Lay out of the handle is 7/8" wide
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0657.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0657.jpg.html)
Sanded the spruce to the static profile and put a string on it
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0653.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0653.jpg.html)
I used a piece of bow string and some wax to hold the string tight and pulled to full draw.
The string was still tight so I chased off some of the layers until I got some bend on them
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0654.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0654.jpg.html)
I trapped the belly almost to a point.
when I put on the persimmon over lays it quit bending
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0656.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0656.jpg.html)
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0694.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0694.jpg.html)
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0690.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0690.jpg.html)

I mixed more smooth-on and turquoise to make a arrow head for the loose ends of sinew on the handle wrap
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0695.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0695.jpg.html)
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0696.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0696.jpg.html)

Really cool stuff.

Nice work. Thanks for posting the pictures.
-
Amazing!! I love your work.

Full draw
I wish I had used a taper in the stack?
Just a little noisey, need some string silencers
Alright pathfinder, here you go.
31#&28" 305 grain arrow 167 fps. average
I like it, It was fun to build
:jumper:

The arrow head came out nice
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0698.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0698.jpg.html)
Persimmon riser
There is a power lam in the stack, longer than the riser. The riser is glued to the belly of the stack with (4) 1/4" hardwood pins drilled threw the back down into the riser
(http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b593/osagemark/bling/100_0699.jpg) (http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/osagemark/media/bling/100_0699.jpg.html)
