Alright...I've been convinced to try a bow quiver once my JD Berry arrives. Which are the models to consider. Obviously I want something quiet and light. I do mostly bowhunting from a treestand. Thanks for being so patient and helpful.
If you want to be able easily take it off while in your treestand like I do, I strongly recommend the German Ridge quivers. Very quiet, very easy, no tools or bolts or straps to worry about.
I will say thunderhorn boa small fry :0)
I would say either the Thunderhorn BOA Small Fry or the Eagles Flight both are very nice..
Thanks guys...I did a search and it looks like I am leaning toward the boa small fry. Sure is fun setting up a new rig. :)
Selway, great northern, thunderhorn are all great quivers. I would love to find a good yardsale bow and install inserts for a kwikee kwiver...I'd even install inserts on a new bow like a bear Grizzly or a Martin Hunter......or a Blacktail.
Of the 2 (EFA & Boa) I'd definately favour the Eagles Flight. Just as secure & a lot lighter! For my mind the best bow quiver on the market, bar none (If you only need a 4 arrow!)
With regard to the EFA...are you talking about the Cherokee model? Thanks.
Thunderhorn Small-Fry
I've been using a GN for several years and really like it. Recently, I picked up a used Kanati quiver that looks like it will work quite well. too.
I always take my quiver off once in the stand, and for me Eagles Flight is the way to go.I have 3 now.Although I recently purchased a possibles bag with attached quiver to give that a try since I've never really cared for a bow mounted quiver.
I've got the Selway detachable bow quiver on my recurve. Have had it for 5 years and have been very happy with it.
anyone got a kanati quiver? how do they compare to the eagle's flight.
Just got a EFA Cherokee from Don, what a great quiver with a great price for us Tradgangers!
I've owned them all and still have five GNs, a Kanati, and a small fry. The Kanati is a better quiver than the small fry, or the EFA. There is a little weight difference, but not enough to matter if you ask me. I like'em all, but keep coming back to the GN cause with the Kelly modification, you can keep the arrows inside of the bow rather than stickin' out like a snowplow. Any of them will work fine. If you stay with traditional long enough, you'll end up owning most of them anyway.
I like the new Kanati one piece angle. Straps stay on the bow and quiver is easy to remove with 2 thumb screws. Angle is adjustable to keep fletching behind bottom limb. 4 arrow weighs 7oz. Don

I have both the Kanati and the Great northern. I like the Kanati much better! Ron LaClaire from shrew made the Kanati the official Shrew bow quiver!!! Cant get a better promo then that!

or without the Shrew logo.

Red,
From a two Berry owner to a new Berry owner, use a strap on that will not harm the great looks of it.
I have a GN strap on one and have just gotten a EFA strap on for my second. That EFA with the velcro is really sweet and alot smaller head on it.
Another vote for the BOA !
As far as the BOA, they do offer a Lynx Bar, which tucks the arrows back into the limbs more, similiar to the Modification on the Great Northern..
In fact, I'm having mine converted as we speak, I will try and post pics when it comes back..
I suggest an EFA quiver
Thanks, all...I ended up ordering an EFA 4 arrow siena leather with Western Diamondback insert. I'll post some pics with it on the bow when I get it. :)
This may sound dumb but What is a EFA quiver???
eagles flight archery = efa
I like to keep my bow clear so I made a quiver that I carry over my shoulder and when I'm ready to hunt I just hang it up or lay it down.
Its similar to the GFA quiver Fred Asbell makes.
Is EFA similar to a GFA? I have been looking for a GFA but maybe the other would work.
Varmint is on the right track. If you hunt out of a tree most of the time and take it off anyway....why bother with a bow quiver. There are many non mounted quivers on the market today. Why not explore those before spending hard earned dollars. Just something to consider.
Just a question here for something I don't understand. Why would you use a bowquiver if you are going to take it off in a stand? Not trying to be smart*** but just don't get it. Thanks for info
I just recently bought a Thunderhorn small fry and so far it has worked great fror me it is small and lightweight but is big enough to hild 4 arrows with large broadheads. Also the folks at Thunderhorn are really good folks to deal with and very fast.
