Title: Dymalux?

I am looking for a dymondwood alternative and was wondering if any of you have used dymalux and what you think of it.
What is it like to glue to? How is it to sand? Does it burn easily etc...
Any thoughts welcome.

I bought a 1/4 sheet of Kodiak brown? 5 years ago. It was supposed to be 1.88 inches wide..it was on one corner the rest was 1.55-1.62" wide. I used it to make one 1.75" wide recurve riser and it looks really good. It has a weird smell to it when you cut or sand it even thru a respirator. I added a powerlam to the stack to take some pressure off of the end of the fades. I will use it again in a 1 1/2" wide builds. I used a 50 grit belt when I made the riser, no problems with glue up. It sanded OK but it is pretty hard. I use zirconium belts on my belt sanders.

this is a pic of the "Kodiak Solid" Dymalux riser from a few years back..it has a neat look to it. I'm just trying to decide whether or not to shell out on a big piece. Guess the proof is in the pudding!
