Title: Eastern red cedar lams???
Post by: longrifle on March 21, 2015, 02:05:00 PM
Wanted to know if in general if bows made with cedar lams end up lighter in draw weight compared to say a maple or red elm lam bow. I'm about to make a ASL with red cedar and am wondering if I should increase the stack?

Yes. It's been a long time since I made one so I can't remember off hand exactly how much I increased it. I'll see if I can find it in my records.

OK thanks bow junkie any insight would help. I found out the hard way that walnut lams are the same way.
