Title: Artificial sinew
Post by: Mgydas on March 16, 2015, 02:26:00 PM
I was at a local hobby shop and found some artificial sinew, which I completely forgot existed.

Now, some of my leatherworking friends use it in their hobbies.  Does it have any practical uses for bows other than stringing together a leather handle or perhaps bowstring?

Nope, makes crappy strings for that matter.

Some folks make bow strings from artificial sinew. It stretches a lot but I think they pre-stretch the strings once made.

I only use it for leather stitching.
