Hi guys, I saw a video somewhere that should a guy sanding the string nocks with a thin piece of sand paper. wondering if any of you know what kind of sand paper that was and if it's a piece that is cut from a sheet or a belt? the backing of the sand paper must be different to keep it from tearing? I'll wait to hear from the great Bowyers on this site...

I either use a chain saw file wraped tightly in sand paper or a strip of emory cloth rolled up. By the way, I'm not a great bowyer just a newb learning as I go! Good luck!

I just made up some sanding cord with 550 paracord. I soaked it in TB3 and rolled it in powdered abrasive. It worked great for one bow before the abrasive wore off. But it did a perfect job of doing the finish work on my nocks. Wish I would have thought of this a long time ago. Everything else I've found in abrasive cord is too small in diameter.

you can twist the abrasive cord into thicker units [plys]too

I finish mine with 320 emery cloth one inch wide ripped in three equal strips. Just roll them like twisting a string then work your string grooves.
