Title: Explain FOC please
Post by: BAO on March 05, 2008, 08:56:00 AM
I see a lot of conversation regarding "extreme forward FOC".  I assume that this refers to the point on a shaft at which the shaft balances.  Am I correct?  How is "25% FOC" measured?  Thanks for educating me folks!

Yep you are right, it is the balance point of the arrow.  If you balance your arrow on a fulcrum point and then measure the distance forward of the center point of the arrow.

Thanks Mike.  From what I have read I am shooting for a balance point 25% from the center of the shaft towards the point, correct?

Brian, under the 2007 Updates, the "Prologue" has probably more than you'll want to know about the what's and why's of arrow FOC; including the formula.
