Great work Bue!
-
Looks good to me! How's it shoot?
-
Very nice work my friend!
What is this center lam made of? I've never heard of that wood before, merbau? Looks like Palm.
Tell us more about the specs if you will. I'd love to know the length of the bow, and the width in the handle.
Is it a rounded belly? Did you glue in reflex? Did it take much set?
You have birch and beech native to Norway? I wonder how they might be as a belly in a bow like this.
-
Bue, I don't know anything about those kind of bows, but it looks awesome. The whale teeth knocks are killer.
Very nice

Sooooo nice!
The tiller looks great. I love seeing something done a bit differently. Looks like a warbow.
Must be quite an ordeal pulling those whale teeth. ;)
-
Thanks everyone. It was asked for some specs so here goes.
72" ntn-51lbs at 28". Width and thickness at center is 1 3/16 and 14/16" tapering in straight lines to 1/2x1/2" just before nocks. Back flat with rounded corners(like a green pea) belly shallow rounded. I don't. make high crowned belly with white Oak. It was glued up with one inch backset and now have 1/2 inch set. Merbau is a wood growing in Indonesia and around there. It is often used for parquet flooring. Bue--.

Monterey,it was an old whale so the teeth did not sit that hard.

Kinda like yours, Bue? :)
-
I'll send you some hide glue Roy, just chew it. :D
-
That looks right and proper.
where did you find whales teeth? They sure look pretty. Very white.
-
