Started this last summer, neck surgery got in the way so I just finished it. First for me: first flared riser with template and first bow I made all by myself without lams from Kenny. Wenge and Zebra wood, maple, 0.003 total taper, 62", 45@27". Now I get to get whipped on the 3D range by I guy with a bow I made myself!

Very sharp combo, I thought your bows were great last year, they keep getting better!

Thanks guys. The finish is Buffalo Hide Satin. I use my tiny Senco Brad Nailer compressor with the small Harbor Freight touch up sprayer. They work but clog alot.
Funny, I've never really liked limb overlays but saw an opportunty to do them on this bow. Now I like them :D

Guys not only does this bow look awesome with the finish Norb's attention to detail is amazing !
It shoots just as good as it looks I've had a few custom bows made for me over the last 30 years but this one tops them all

Very nice job!
-
Very nice!
-
Well done. Anyone would be proud to receive a bow of that quality from a friend.
-
Nice job, Norbert! You really have that design down. I should know, I have one of those sweet babies! If that one shoots as good as mine, the new owner should be well-pleased!
-
Yeah thats a great looking bow. Congrats Brother!
-
Very nice, just my weight great job.
-
Awesome bow Norb! Great job! Bet she's a shooter too.
-
That is one really beautiful bow

Thanks everyone. Larry's been kicking my tail at shoots for years so now at least I can take some credit for it.
A couple of things this bow taught me. From now on I am only going to use Smooth-on for tips and overlays. It is worth the extra time because it is strong and sands better than all of the other crap. Also, on the tips and overlays I will use fiberglass (bow tuff or other cut offs) because it really sands to a smooth transfer and is probably a lot stronger.

Hey Kent, I keep looking at my old TGhost and noodling on how to do a face mounted bow. Can't really figure it out. Guess I'll have to leave it to the experts :notworthy:
-
beautiful bow i like those wood combos
-
Beautiful bow, how does she shoot?
-
We've got a shoot on Sunday. If I beat Larry, he'll blame it on the bow for sure! Maybe I'll take some pictures...

Great job again.Like the tips! Have to agree with you too about using glass in overlays , far better than phenolic for blending.
-
Most excellent , Norb!!

Well, as predicted Larry beat me like a drum on Sunday. Of course, being a former State Champ in California, he's pretty stiff competition.
