good luck !!!
-
Very nice Bobby. They are a sweet machine.
-
Now that looks good, and the best part is the shelf below the table where a sixpack of Foster's can be placed. Bue--. :bigsmyl:
-
LOL

I gotta get my shop done first.
That looks like a nice one. Is that the one you have? That's why I want to have a few 220v outlets in there.
-
Yes I have that one. It is a powerful machine. Yupper on the 220 volts.
-
Did you wire your sander for 220?
-
Thats on my wish list too... Right behind a Canister Dust Collector..!
-
It comes prewired for 220 and I left it like that.
-
I wasn't aware that this model was available there, what with U.S.a being 110v etc so that's something I've learned.
-
Isn't that a little overkill for building bows. .? 1 1/2 hp. that is a Monster........ :scared: I once used one and my piece somehow got side cocked against the belt, it threw the piece of wood flying and caught my finger which tore off the end of my finger tip.... like a chunk of meat was hanging there.
-
"Isn't that a little overkill for building bows. .? "
NO SUCH THING!!LOL!!!
I have never once while grinding exotic or domestic hardwoods thought -"I need less horsepower!"
-
You can never have too much horsepower! :bigsmyl:
I've gotten too enthusiastic and stalled my little belt sander a few times.
Dave.
-
Nice! I've been eyeing up one of those as well.
-
That's no grizzly bear.
-
my favorite is 3hp
-
nice
-
Gad! Wish i had just the airspace that baby occupys. ;)
-
monterey, you should see what the rest of my shop looks like, stuff practically stacked on top of another, good idea Bue but think I will get myself in trouble sober without the booze as an added extra The 3 HP model has a 15 amp plug and I didn't have an outlet. Doubt if I would want any more HP anyhows.
-
Wear gloves Bobby.
-
What is the voltage in Australia? Are you going to modify the drive wheel so you can use a prifiling jig.I saw a couple of posts here where that was done. Here in Norway we have 230 volts- 50 hertz. Bue--.
-
Bue I think over there they have a monkey that turns a crank for power.. :)
-
no gloves Roy, the fabric becomes a magnet for the sanding grit and helps drag your fingers along!!! :bigsmyl: Bue, the voltage is 240 here.Too soon yet to see what mods I can or might do with it.Roy we aren't able to use a monkey here anymore since you went back to Turkey's a@# in USA! :goldtooth:
-
LOL. Watch your fingers.
-
My only problem with these big sanders on 220v is that I really prefer the smell of gasoline with my horsepower.
I think it's from growing up at the drag strip .... When someone comes out with an edge sander than runs on a turbocharged Briggs and Stratton .... I'll buy .....
ON a serious note though, that's awesome.

:biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
-
No gloves huh, then have BandAids on hand.
-
I'd rather need a bandaid than a tourniquet ;)
-
There is a 1/8th" gap between the belt and edge of the table, no way a hand could be drawn into that. I can see the concern with larger factory machines. The gloves I wear are not strapped tight around my wrist, if I move my arm like throwing a base ball, the gloves fly off my hand.
But to each their own I suppose. Should we wear safety goggles, a respirator, hearing protection, and fire proof cloths all the time. Well yes we should, but we don't. I have worked in a guys shop and he used one of those torpedo heaters for heat, while the shop was filled with flammable materials and piles of saw dust. I stayed close to the door.. :)
-
You get that glove into that 1/8" gap and it could wrap up on your hand so that it won't just pull off, and if it then pulls under that drum on the end too... you could be in trouble.
I'm only telling you cuz I like you and don't want to see you get hurt. NO FRIGGIN GLOVES on that thing!
And by he way, I DO wear safety glasses, respirators, hearing protection, AND gloves... when and where appropriate.

Thanks Mom.. :)
