Title: Predator bows?
Post by: MichiganMike08 on March 04, 2008, 08:34:00 PM
I have been reading over the forums on this website all winter and I have to say I have been bit by the trad bug. I have been drooling over all the bows here and now want to buy one.
I find myself torn between Predator and Bob Lee recurves. I have shot a Bob Lee, but not Predator. So I was wondering what peoples opinions are on these bows. I have a 28.5" draw and pull mid 50's comfortably.
             Thank you for your help

You will absolutely love a Predator bow! They kinda look like the old Bear Super Kodiak except with a Real radical Super fast limb!!! These are hard hitting , fast, shoot where you look Trad bows. Ron will make sure that you are more than satisfied.

Awesome that's what I wanted to hear. Jay's in Clare has one on order for me and is going to call me when it comes in. I can't wait to shoot it.

I got my first Predator in "98".

Aside from new limbs of different weights, I still have it. I have refinished the riser several times.

The bow is solid, dead in my hand upon release, and because the arrow is right on top of my hand, it shoots where I look.

I draw to 29 inches and 68 lbs. I try to keep my carbon arrows around 630 to 650 grains. Performance on game with this set-up is incredible. (I like horsepower.) Mid fifties will easily handle ANYTHING in North America.

If my Predator broke in half tommorrow, I would replace it with a duplicate. Either bow will NOT let you down. You have good taste!

Thanks Bonebuster. It looks like my decision is going to be hard. Last time I went to Jay's I must have shot one bow or another for over ywo hours. They didn't have a Predator recurve though.

Just keep in mind you are jumping to the high end of performance of the recurves, not as forgiving as others.  have your form down or don't blame the bow!  I have 2 predators, 1 new and 1 old and was actually disappointed a little in the new design.  The old design is definately superior IMHO.  But glad to have you!

My dad has a predator classic ' I've shot it many times and it is just great. I'm a longbow man myself but if i shot recurve predator would definately be toward the top of my list! But don't worry. Bob Lee / Predator . You can't go wrong!

Jump in the car and head up to East Tawas and test drive one. Tawas is nice this time of year.
