A little while ago I started a thread on how to get the gloss out of Fullerplaste and many mentioned flattening paste.
I ordered some, and now wonder when and how to spray it. Do I mix it with fullerplast or is it something I spray after the final fullerplast is dried? thanks guys...

I have not used it in a while but as I recall just a couple heaping tablespoons (after mixing) in a cup or so of mixed catalyzed varnish. Mix well and spray. The flattening paste spray was a misting spray over the final coat, higher pressure to get a fine mist and a light coat to dull the finish. Makes a nice coat and great hunting finish.

I used to use lacquer flattening paste, but because of stupid clean air laws, we can no longer buy it here. for reducing epoxy from gloss to a very flat finish I mixed 50/50 flatting paste to epoxy. you will have to experiment with how much you need to get the desired finish, but after you get the flattening paste mixed with your varnish you may want to reduce it a little more and definitely strain it with a very fine strainer(like a piece of old panty hose). there are always little white dried bits of the flattening paste and they will wind up on your bow if you don't strain it after mixing in the flattening agent.
