Title: Hickory backed BW
Post by: Iron Eagle on November 29, 2014, 03:57:00 PM
R/D hickory backed black walnut. 68" tip to tip 47lbs@28" it's 1 3/4" till mid limb then tapers to 1/2" tips. Brazilian walnut in the handle and tip over lays. Shoots great, little stack, hand shock, and is one of the faster bows I've made. Ran around 150 arrows trough it. Ended up being 1/4" positive tiller. Pics coming.

Now that's a beautiful bow. i know that this is an old posting, or thread but I'm new to TradGang and to traditional archery in general, so I was searching this site for ideas and ran across your bow, which matches my idea for my next build. I just finished my first bow, a Red Oak pyramid bow. It turned out surprisingly nice, 43# @ 28", and it is 66"s TtoT.
My bow shoots fine and looks fine but it is my first build and now I want to try a bit more elegant design. I like the Deflex/Reflex design and I love the light/dark wood combination of the Hickory backed Black Walnut. And I already have everything that I need, Hickory backing and a nice board of Black Walnut.
   Thanks for sharing our photos.
