Hey guys,
I'm looking for a good riser wood combo with bocate that will go with southern red cedar veneers for my limbs and 1/2 the riser in Bocate. Any suggestions that would match up well with the figured Bocate and red veneers? Pics would be great as well, thanks, Danny

Curly maple looks good with both bocote and red cedar.

If it was me, I would use cocobolo..or cocobolo. Just sayin. but bubinga or bloodwood would be ok.
Go with something in reddish range unless you wan't it to look like a patchwork quilt. Of course you cant use the cedar as it won't make reliable riser wood.
Too often, guys combine to many different woods and or colors and instead of adding, it takes away from the bow, it looks like wood bin clean up.
Just my .02

i like gaboon ebony. osage is nice, and so is cocobolo, but the ebony is my favorite. something about the heavy contrast just does it for me

I like yellow and black with bacote. I made this one from the scrap wood pile. Bacote, african blackwood and bloodwood. The yellow is osage actionwood. I wanted it to stay yellow!
