Title: sold on recurves
Post by: bigbob2 on October 02, 2014, 01:02:00 AM
Having recently made my first one piece 'curve I got the itch to try the next step in a take down. i have got so much pleasure from these two i doubt I will ever feel quite the same about my beloved longbows again  :bigsmyl:this was my first the one piece

Made a small boo boo with the limb pad on one limb reversing the overlay so the mosaic was on wrong end.

Gorgeous! By the way that wasn't a boo boo, that's how you tell the limbs apart?

"By the way that wasn't a boo boo ,that's how you tell the limbs apart?" Ha ha that's what I've been telling people.Brace height was about a 1/2''low too when I took these shots.

Very nice Bob!  Much better than the one and only takedown recurve I built.  That thing tried my patience getting the limbs aligned and un-twisted.

Very nice bows, love that 1 piece.
Going to be working on a re-curve soon having built a couple rough looking 3 piece bows I have found that they do indeed shoot very smoothly.  Anyone with shoulder problems should consider using a recurve if they dont already do so.   :p

Lesken2012 couldn't find an unstrung shot of the one piece but here's one of it at full draw.
