hi guys. has anyone tried a cari bows made by abe penner for mantobe & what did you think of them. thank you.
I'd have a couple if I had the cash! Plain and simple!
I have! They are top shelf stuff. The finish is perfect, and you won't be dissapointed with the performance either. Good stuff. Good man...
You get what you pay for... and these bows deliver.
One of the best finished bows made and good performance.
I was just drooling over one of the bows in his inventory today. Now only if I had $1320 lying around...
Maybe I'm greedy, but I've always prefered two $650 bows to one $1300 bow.
thanks alot guys. i am going to buy one love the way they look & shoot. i tryed one about 2 mounths ago & loved it,thats when i started to put money away for one. i wanted to get a good take down bow to that on trips when i fly, but just wanted to get some feed back. thanks again & allways hunt safe.
There is a review of Abes peregrine on my site www.peteward.com (http://www.peteward.com) in the trad review section.
I have shot a few other Cari-bows and all were flawless in every way,and the Peregrine is a very good performer.
Pete
PETE, NOW THAT'S JUST CRUEL!
Bowfiend...I always preferred 4 - $325.00 bows
to1 1300.00...aaahahhh, who am I kidding!LOL
I have two and love them. Will probably order another this fall. Worth every penny!
I have the SILVER FOX Longbow----which I now have 2 sets of limbs for-----3 piece---If I had the money I would also buy the 1 piece Peregrine Longbow as well.
I had the tundra wolf made up for me in 60 inch, 55@26, with all the moose antler trim, with the wenge lams in the riser. The bow shoots as good as it looks. And the bow looks good!
Now this is my kind of thread. I have a review on the silver fox in the review section of the forums. With Abe's bows it's plain and simple. You get more than you pay for! His workmanship and attention to detail in my opinion can't be beat. First off his bows are pure performers. They are very smooth and will rip an arrow with virtualy no hand shock. Second if you really appreciate detail Abe's your guy. Everything on that bow has been crafted to a level of detail that's really hard to find these days. Just notice the lines in the last pic. I don't think a bow can get any better than my silver fox but I'm looking real hard at the tundra wolf. Keep us posted on what you decide to get. Here's some pics for ya!

I have one Silver Fox and am getting another. That is how much I like them.
T.J., Mine is gonna look a lot like yours. Birdseye Maple and Pau Ferro riser and Birdseye Maple vaneers with antler tips and antler at the limb bolts. 62" amo and 50# @ 28". Just a matter of paying for her. LOL
I have a snowbird, top notch craftmanship, flawless.
One of the finest built bows out there in my opinion...and from my testing, in the top 10 for performance.
Had a Featherhorn fro a couple seasons.
Wish I had that one back ...... ;)
I've had a Featherhorn since fall of 2000. It's stood up very well to quite a lot of use. Abe's bows are always great lookers and performers. The finishing and detail work is second to none.
Hey Donald, there's one on Abe's inventory page that is identical  to the one you just described. Check it out.
thanks guys for all the help. tj the one i am getting is on his wep sight. silver fox cocobolo/pau ferro premium riser, cocobolo/carbon limbs. antler on wedge & tips. 52#@28" 62 long. thank you again guys.
I think T.J.'s bow is the prettiest bow I've ever seen.
Love em. I have 2 Silver Fox T/D's and have had 2 Featherhorns in the past. All were works of art. Here are the 2 I have now. Both are 62", one being 56# @ 28" and the other is 58# @ 28".
Now, I just need to talk Abe into a forward handle 58" longbow. Abe, you listening? LOL

Great choice Frank! That one looks amazing. Those woods really go together. Make sure to post pics and a report when you get it.
NativeCraft, thanks for the compliment. Sometimes I think could just stare at it forever. But then the itch to shoot it is just to great :biglaugh:
Just received a new Perigrine about a month or so ago. Great shooting bow. I had to drop down in bow weight to 51# and this bow shoots an arrow as fast and hard hitting as my 55# & 58# bows. Great looking bow also! Read the review on the Perigrine
on Abe's website or Pete's website. I was so impressed with his review of this bow I had to order one. I'm really glad I did.
Bobby
Silver Fox owner here also. By far one of the best performing LB's I've owned and I've owned some damn good well known bowyers LB's. I wouldn't trade or sell it for anything.
JOHN
thanks tj, your bow looks great good luck with it. i had abe put a beaver tail on the rizer take care everyone.
BP that lower pic is just plumb painful!
Here's a photo of the featherhorn I recently acquired. It has a beavertail grip and shelf so this seemed like a fitting location for some snapshots. The finish and workmanship of the bow is beautiful.

How would you describe the grip on the Silver Fox? Is it a low grip or med grip? I love the looks of these bows, but haven't had the chance to shoot one.
Abe makes a great product & is a great guy to do biz with. I have a Taiga loaded with antler that I'll never part with. Peace!
TJ the one on the web site is the one I am getting.
Thanks Guys.
Hey Brian P. the 58" forward handle is being tested by a few guys right now.
Abe
Abe,
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you,
But, why didnt you call me to test drive it for ya?
Have you decided what shows you may attend this year, and do you think you might have one available to play with at these shows? I always enjoy "chewing the fat" with you when our paths cross. It usually means another bow for me, though.
I trust all is well with you and Tina.
Take care,
BP
JC,
Naw, for it to be truely painful, I should have included the pics of the limb veneers and antler work on the tips and riser.

Donald that's gonna be one purty bow!
Brian that last pic's the money shot. Abe does such beautiful work with his thumb rest
Brian...I got DIBS! If you ever decide to get rid of that one, please contact me before it hits the market. That is one of the prettiest bows I've ever seen...and I've seen a bunch.
JC,
No problem.
I wouldnt recommend holding your breath though LOL.
BP
Sweet looking bow you got there, Brian. You might be interested in knowing that Abe has very generously donated a bow for the PBS Banquet. Thanks, Abe! We sincerely appreciate your awesome donation!
Well done Abe :clapper:
Yea, I saw that Abe had donated a bow. I am not suprised by his donation. He has always seemed, to me, to be "one of the good guys" of archery.
I will be watching that auction very closely in Pittsburgh.
BP
Anybody got an answer on the grip? Low, med or what? Thanks.
