Title: a howl in the night
Post by: Ian johnson on March 03, 2008, 07:55:00 AM
well two weeks ago I go outside at 2am to see what my lab was barking at so much, I shine a light and, its a coyote, now I do have a lot of woods behind my house but I have houses on either side of me, so I knew I could not use a gun, so I bought a coyote call and grabbed my longbow, I headed out at around 12am I sat down andd started calling, I did not expect to see much, about ten seconds after I let out a howl, I get a howl back!, now my blood is pumping, I nock a wensel woodsman and let out a rabbit distress, after about 10 minutes I hear something big coming in the brush, its 15 yards away, I shine my light and just cought a glimse of the coyote's tail running off, I'll be back next weekend!

predator calling is great fun, especially at night..you never know what will come to a bunny distress call.

Best of luck..

Have fun, but I'd let the neighbours know what your up to. One of them may show up shotgun in hand looking for that disturbing noise.
