I started on this bow last summer and then put it away while I worked on other stuff. Here recently I got it out and finished it up. Its 61" long and the limbs are 1.5" wide. Its 45# @ 24". The limbs twist back and forth a little and have some concave areas. It has a kink right in the handle and the limbs curve to the sides which makes it pretty much center shot. Its a fun bow to shoot. It is backed with a single black rat snake skin and finished off with 6 coats of tung oil. The tip overlays are horn. It has a dark wind check in the lower fade. I can't get a full draw picture until later today.

When I shaped the grip area I followed the shape of the back where it dips down.

That is one BEAUTIFUL bow. I love the rat snake skin. It goes perfect with the wood. Great job on the bow outlaw.
I love that kinky handle, Scrubby!
Bob, I had a friend in college from Iowa who had a similar fashion sense... Must be a Northern thang. LOL!
Thanks guys. I dress for comfort, not style :archer:
Looking good. Bue--.
That is one of a kind and - nicely done!
Awesome work!
That looks great. I have not put black snake on a hedge bow yet. I should be seeing them on the roads soon.
Awesome job.
That's a pretty bow.
Kelly, Black snakes with a pattern look great on osage bows. That's what I put on my PA trade bow last year.
One beautiful bow, you did a great job on it.
Really a cool looking bow!
Very nice!
Scrub I see that. I have used them. I get all my skins from road kills or neighbors who kill them. I just can't bring myself to kill them just for their skins.
But I will back me a hedge with some rat snake for sure after seeing this one.
