Title: Big Horn Hybrid???? Little Bighorn??
Post by: String Cutter on March 02, 2008, 02:44:00 AM
We, I sold a bow and just won a bow on Ebray. It's a Ram Horn Hybred. Says it has a longbow riser and recurve limbs. Anybody ever shoot one of these??? Saw it and just had to have it..

'cutter, was that Ron Nelson's hybrid?  It sure looked like the "Little Bighorn".  Longbow riser and grip with recurve limbs.  Owned and shot them.  Very good 'in between'(hybrid) bow.  I've owned a lot of Bighorns and it was a Little Bighorn that had everything I wanted in color and finish.  Just a little heavy.  I recall it wasn't quite as smooth as my Ramhunter but was what Bighorn called their 'speed burner' bow.  Good luck..............Shick

I saw it too, looked nice, I bought a bow from Ron two months ago, due date has come and gone but no response from Ron, I guess it will work out.

Shick, Yes it was Ron's. Can't decide weather to get the 58 or the 60 with my 27 inch draw??? Any help??
I went ahead and won it off of Ebray. Don't Know if he calls it the Little Bighorn or not??? Just had it as a hybrid???? Think it's going to look cool??? Just hope it shots well.
Does anyone have his website??? His old one has ran out????

I've owned a few little bighorns.  They're not hybrids in my opinion, but recurves.  Their risers are 50s style and indexed.  Very nice bows.

Ron assured me the 58" won't stack with my 28 1/2" draw.

Mark, that's exactly what I got it for. I have a 58" Kohannah at 45lbs, but wanted another 5 lbs for deer.

I've had one for awhile now (older model) and just can't get used to the grip. I put it up for trade on the classifieds and pulled it back off telling myself I'd get used to it. Bighorn has always made a quality bow, that's why I have 6 takedowns. Just wish I could get used to a longbow grip.   :banghead:
