Title: Bear Takedown Mass
Post by: 72highboy on March 02, 2008, 12:15:00 AM
I have looked in all of the catalogs I have and on on Bears website but I can't find the mass weight of   a bear takedown anywhere. Could some please tell me how heavy they are. I have never handled one but those latches don't look light. I would guess that the two different risers and limb combos are different weights as well. Thanks for your help.

I have an A handle and I know compared to other 3 piece recurves that I had they are not any heavier in the hand, but I don't have a scale that I can weight them on either.  Best bet is to give Shawn a call at 3Rivers.  They have both A's and B's in stock he can put the handles on the shipping scale there and give you a good idea of the weight of them. dino

Not sure on the actul weight, but Bear sockets are cast aluminum(on the later models). And thier risers are much more trimmed down(less wood). Not haveing the steel reciever in the risers for bolts also saved a little weight.Hope this helps.bowdoc
