well finally got her done. I think it looks ok. Its 62" ntn, 45# at 28",six coats of try-oil, black walnut tips, black leather lace grip and a floppy rest. She fought me a bit especially the end with the knot whole. But I persevered. Enjoy the pics.

Hole in one! I like it!
-
That is really nice work. Looks great
-
I like it.
-
Thanks guys.
osagetree- i was racking my brain trying to think of a name for it, I think you just named it for me. If you don't mind me borrowing it?
-
Hey macbow, how lucky are you? you actually live near a place called osage beach. Is it named that for a good reason?
I was just in Mo. in October visiting family. Might have to time my next trip so I can make mojam next time
-
Thats your first selfbow?! Awesome. Just awesome. did it take any set?
-
An excellent bow, Warren! Well done! :clapper:
-
Echatham, no set so far. lost some of my reflex that I heat bent into it. That first picture is right after it was unstrung. Ive put between 100 and 200 arrows through it so far. Just some junk arrows a friend gave me. currently making a list supplies to purchase so I can make my own arrows and strings.
red hill thanks for the applause. I wanna start another one soon, but my wife wants me to finish the remodel I started on the bathroom. The water works and the toilet flush, what ,more can you ask for
-
That turned out really nice - full draw looks very good to me - nicely done!
-
That's a serious grip and a serious mustache. Nice bow man. Not alot of guys would have the fortitude to tackle a knot like that on a first osage bow.
-
Love it!
-
LittleBen- I figured if I can make a knot like that work, when I get a really good piece it might go a little easier. Besides I kinda like character bows.
-
The mustache is kind of my trade mark. (http://i928.photobucket.com/albums/ad129/wdigby71/first%20osage%20bow/finished%20bow%201/IMG_0791_zps9283b4d1.jpg) (http://s928.photobucket.com/user/wdigby71/media/first%20osage%20bow/finished%20bow%201/IMG_0791_zps9283b4d1.jpg.html)
It drives my wife and kids crazy when people stop me in public places and ask for a photo.
-
What do I think.......I think you done good!! :notworthy:
-

-
Very nice bow! Cool looking stash too :D
-
Good Job, I like the tips.
-
thanks to yo all for the compliments. I got silly the other day and placed a large order online for string and arrow making supplies, lets just say I might be skipping a meal or two to recoup my cost. What can I say I've got the " Bowyer Bug".
-
Outstanding! You did well. Jawge
-
too cool, on the bow and the 'tache.
-
Very nice work.
-
I'm note sure what I'm more intimidated by, the excellence of your first self bow, or your mustache!
Seriously though, great looking bow! Nice work!
-
Looks great
-
Awesome Job,
Now go make one that looks like your "stache" :biglaugh: :shaka:
-

You should check out Sam Harpers bamboo recurve.
Before you created your blog I had already nicknamed his bow the "stache" bow. No offence intended.
