this is a thank you thread for all the help that kenny has given me over time, he seemed more concerned about saving me money than doing business, what a chap!! :clapper:
anyway i finally got my first "kenny m style bow" shooter!!
what an awesome bow- it shoots so fast, will shoot a range of arrows. and is the most accurate bow that i have, i just cant stop shooting it. my first r/d bow too!
my first attempt resulted in a bow way underweight- cos the riser slipped a fraction, and had to kinda re- tiller the bow. so with lessons learn- i built this one. after wasting some very pretty veneers on the other one- i built this with straight yew lams and an osage riser- nothing fancy!!- i dont know if the deer will mind or not :dunno: .
now that i have learnt a few things, maybe i can use up some of those veneers now, have some great sapele, walnut burl and imbuya burl.
anyway: i ground these lams on sleds i got from kenny, and traded for the osage riser blocks.

64" 50#@ 29".
came right in at 50# after i added about 10% to the stack- as the first one came out about 10% underweight. guess its the yew lams!!

black wildebeest horn for the tips.
i do love the grain pattern of the yew under glass, all the islands and swirls. didnt use my best yew lams yet.

not a very clear pic- need some daylight
plain jane osage riser- should darken up, then will contrast a bit.- (need to re-position the side plate closer to the belly)
that fade in at the heel of the grip, is not as abrupt as it looks- its the same curve as the top fade in.
