Cool! Keep us posted Kenny. Now that I'm back from TX, maybe time to play with the cedar lams I got from you.
Dont you need a field tester for these bows?? :goldtooth:
I think that that first set will be sharp! I wll be checking back...
Hey Shaun, wondered where you'd been! Any good stories?? C'mon.....
Jamie,I lucked out on that piece of cedar,it came out of the board just like I hoped it would!!The curly hickory has really good grain too,but you cant see it in that pic.
can't wait to see the finished product!
Kenny thats going to be a great combo of wood!!! best of luck..bud! Marco
Gonna be nice Kenny! I'll be waiting.
Good afternoon Kenny, my friend and I are going to be building a couple of longbows and recurves. He couldn't find the laminations he wanted so I sent him your information. A quick question on the laminations, how do you make your laminations and what tolerance are you looking. Is there a jig or a special tool or a particular way of doing this, any information would be appreciated, thanks Chuck.
Heres what I'm using now Chuck! Sent ya a PM....

That looks serious... :)
Glued up Sun afternoon, took it off the form tonite, had some HORRENDOUS lam slippage when I glued up. Went from 1 1/2" wide to gonna be about 1"-1 1/16" wide at the riser! THIS STINKS, the rest of the bow, includin the tiller came out flawless! Oh well ,thats part of it. Still gonna salvage it if I can, heres a few pics of the purty narrow limbs!!
The curly hickory(sun was goin down pics don't do justice!)See the slippage on the bottom of limb 2nd pic!! :banghead:

WOW Kenny, you got a new machine since I visited just a while back. Looks like a great set up for lam grinding. Dust collection, shop insulation... real up town set up.
Love the look of those cedar limbs with the heart and sap wood color changes.
Shaun,I almost threw that cedar board in the junkpile, sure glad I didn't!!
That cedar looks great.
