Title: Lone Wolf Assassin Question?
Post by: PastorSteveHill on March 01, 2008, 05:12:00 PM
I did a search and found very little on this stand...

Have any of you used one?  How hard is the harness to hook up correctly?

Normally Lone Wolf have great products with terrible instuctions.  Why don't they give dvd's with their stands?

Anyway, wanted to hear opionions...

Steve, after talking to John, I wanted to ask you something:  Just how big an old boy are you?  Ha, Ha!  John says if you'd quit trading bows, you'd be able to hit something.  Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black. . .  Paul.

Steve I have both LW hang on stands, I the use Assassin 90% of the time. Great stand light weight and east to put, I also use 3 LW sticks when hunting. as for their harness I don't use their's I use don't recall the brand name the vest type harness. I feel it is much safer plus much easier to put on.

Diamond Paul... I'm about 6'1  225 or 235 depending on how much cake I keep eating... haha.. Yeah, if I'd stop trading bows, I probably would be ok, but it is always that next one that will really make me a better shot!!!!

Doug 77, I'm talking about the assassin not the traditional hang on stand. This stand is small, and kind of looks like a step or something... I wonder if you'd have to stand the entire hunt???

I hunt out of a LW alpah climber and love it.  But that assassin looks TINY!  If it's the one I'm thinkinga about, it doesn't look like much more that a step.

I thought about that Frank. But that would cost like $350 plus $100 for tree stick????

Did the harness that came with the assassin not work good?

My buddy bought an assasin for me.  It is without a doubt the finest portable treestand I have ever used.  I also have a climber by lone wolf but I quit using it after I got the assasin.  It's so light you don't even notice that it is on your back.  I love that thing.

Pastor Steve,

Lone Wolf's  web page (http://www.lonewolfstands.com/shoppingcart/Products/Assassin-Combo__ASN.aspx)  says very little about the webbing saddle that they provide with the assassin platform, but I've read nothing but good things about the   Tree Saddle (http://www.trophylineusa.com/saddle.htm)  and   Guido"s Web (http://www.guidosoutdoors.com/)

Steve,

Sometimes the boys do better with pictures   :D

Here is the Assassin:

It doesn't look as comfortable as a Tree Saddle to me; I think that is what I will go with.

I  am  going to pick up an Assault before deer season too:

Here is the Assault...it is a smaller version of their hang on:

I like the tree saddle, I've actually used it. THe only hinderance to it is the straps that come up. It can put a Longbow in an awkward position to shoot...

steve i got your e mail. i use the 3/8 bolts & woodpecher drill to get up the tree. i love the tree sadle, but after a while my feet wood start to hurt on the bolts, so with the assassin i wood rest my feet on it. i hunt from dark to dark. good luck, have a great day.
