Do most of you guys like bow quivers. I use a Small fry on my Dwyer. I ahve always liked the little extra weight and convience. I know most hill style shooters usually don't. Any thoughts? BILL
Like you Bullfrog,I always use bowquivers. They do add a little weight for stability, and there's nothing handier for carrying arrows or getting a second one on the string.
Never tried one on a Trad bow, just couldn't insult the lines of my bow.....(though I did get a bow quiver from Ron with my new Shrew - not sure I will use it - but couldn't help myself).
One "problem" I have with bow quivers is noise. With 33"+ arrows, they tend to vibrate and make one heck of a bit of noise when I shoot.

Back or hip quiver just doesn't work for me if I am trying to crawl around in the sage or tundra. They hang up.
Love my longbow quivers. Love the added weight of bow quivers . My bow hand tends to float with out the extra weight. My recurves are heavy enough with out one tho I will add a light 3 or 4 arrow holder.
I never liked bow quivers that is until I tried a boa small fry 4 arrow . It is the greatest quiver ever invented :0) Drew
I don't care for a quiver to be on a bow...

...Yep...
Bowquivers? Can't stand 'em.
Never met a bowquiver I liked yet. Funny how many models come with a "quick detach" feature. I've always figured that nothing was quicker that not putting it there to start with. I shoot 32" arrows as well.
I never liked bow quivers until I tried a mini strap on on my dryad. now I cannot imagine hunting without one.
The small kind like Ron LaClair sells...3 arrow...works best...marco#78..Eagle something I think.lol...

I really don't know of a better way to carry arrows in the field. Also you can doll them up a bit, I always put a pin of the first critter that my bow set up killed first, in this case the first critter killed was a turkey.
I hated all longbow quivers but last year the Eagle's Flight bow quiver made me a convert.
Another  for Eagle's Flight.
I like a bare bow, no quivers on my Hills, it's a back quiver for me.
I always use a quiver. I like the added weight and the natural cant it gives my bows.
I hate anything hanging off my Longbow. Back quivers for me, from Mikes Archery Leather of course.

I don't have a hill, but I've used nothing but bow quivers on my longbows and recurves for 50 years, and never a problem. I love the artful nostalgia of back quivers, but I can't wear that and a backpack, which is a necessary. And I can't bend over and sneak through low limbs and brush with a back quiver. And I can't draw a second arrow without being noticed with a back quiver. To own his each ...
I always had Selways or Thunderhorns on my bows be it a recurve or longbow. Now I've been using the little Eagles Flight Quivers on my Longbows. I really like these. You hardly know they are on except when and if you need a quick second shot.
It is so much nicer without a quiver. The light weight and it doesn't snag on anything.
In that I normally hunt from tree stands I usually load the bow with an arrow from a GFA type quiver. But I also have a Solo Stalker on the bow if I need a quick second shot. It weighs next to nothing. For me it didn't effect the shootability of the bow. Sure would like to find a 3 arrow quiver that met my needs. So far haven't found one I liked.
I have shot with one for so long I cannot stand to not have one.
I really don't like the feel of a quiver on my bow. I've only used them on compounds. I never considered using one on my longbows. I prefer a side quiver most of the time.
Been using bow quivers forever for big game hunting. Often will use a back quiver for small game, stumping and target shooting.
I stopped using bow quivers for both recurves and longbows about 6 years ago. I either use my home made back quiver or pocket quiver for 3D, and my home made GFA for hunting. I couldn't go back to a bow quiver now, it just doesn't feel right to me anymore. Give me a clean bow anyday.
Never have used a bow quiver. Just don't like it on my bow during the non-hunting season when shooting with friends or Trad shoots. So, I've been using a GFA quiver or hip quiver for hunting, which have worked well for me. BUT, I recently purchased a Eagles Flight quiver to try. Very compact and light.
I've never used one. I am open to the idea though.
Yes and no, it depends on what the hunt entails. I prefer not to use one on my Hill, for reasons of sentimentality and nostalgia, but will for sure if I need more stuff on my back! If there's going to be lots of shooting in an animal-rich environment, a back quiver is quite handy!
I do the same now as I did in my compound days..........quiver on the bow till I'm in the stand then it comes off and hangs beside me in the tree.Just don't like to shoot with one on the bow,and I do have 3 Eagles Flight quivers.
Will be trying the possibles bag with quiver attached this year,so there may be a few EF bow quivers in the classifieds soon.
I always had issues with accuracy with bow quivers. I also know the value of having one. I recently bought a dual Stalker from alaska bowhunting Supply and it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Two on the bow and one on the string is perfect if you only "PLAN" on taking one shot. If I miss and lose 3 arrows on one outing, then I need to go home and practice more.
The Great Northern strap-on with Kelly's modification to bring the arrows back inside of the bow seems to be my favorite. I try others, but I keep coming back to the GN.
i seem to shoot my tomahawk and my widow psr better with a small light quiver on the bow.
I was a big fan of GN bow quivers for many years. But, the last five or so I have found that it negatively affects the shooting charactoristics of my longbows. I now generally do not use them, prefering a side stalker, Simmons rotary, or GFA depending on the conditions.
Mike
I use a great northern about half the time the other half it's a cat quiver but with that I have added a 1 arrow skookum when using the cat because replaceing an arrow is difficult at best while wearing the cat quiver.
