Title: free osage staves
Post by: long time archer on October 17, 2013, 09:50:00 AM
Sold our home, and in cleaning out pole barn found some osage staves. Don't know the moisture content but have been stored for some years. If anyone is close to the Stgurgis, MI or LaGrange, IN area, and you want them, they are free for pick up. Contact me at cell: 269-221-4589.

I just thought about this: 'stave' would indicate a roughed out bow form. What I have are 5 or 6 osage split log pieces. Thses are ready for someone to begin from square one. Sorry about any misused terminology.

Thats only like 1000miles from here .... maybe it's worth the trip .... certainly safer than trying to cut osage on the military base ... the only place I've seen it locally ...

shipping would be major. These are osage log quarters about 7 feet long, and very heavy for their size. I have two very interested parties so they will probably be gone over the weekend.
