It is about time for me to start serving my strings. Can someone give a recommendation on what tool brand and model I should be looking at.

I use the cartel string serving jig. Check out 3rivers or custom king. they probably carry it or something like it. Works well.

i have only used this one, and i can't imagine why you would need anything fancier. what more do you want it to do? lol!

I'm no pro either.... so who knows, maybe im missing out on something.

That's almost the same as the one I have. Will do all you need. I only do flemish strings so have no idea how you go about seving an endless loop string.

I just went the quick way and bought the cheapest one there was:D. It works fine, so I think that just about anyone works.

one of the best one is the bearpaw
$20 with free shipping.. best price on the net

All I intend to do in servie the string middle where I nock my arrows.  Didn't know if one wrapped it tighter than anotyher and had an advantage.

I have tried a bunch of makes and some are kinda costly but the Cajun serving tool works the best in my opinion and is also one of the least expensive.

I bought one of the $25 or so serving jigs thinking it would matter ... and it does ... it's a piece of crap. Doesnt keep consistent pressure.
Keep it simple and cheap.

the little spinner works great from 3R.  I also have a cajun archery server that is great/consistent, but you can't "spin" it like the spinner... one round at a time by hand.  Still doesn't take long to serve:)
both I think are $10.

Another Bear paw fan here. It keeps consistent tension on the serving much better than the cheaper red plastic one I started with.

Dont get the red plastic one from Bohning. You might give archery up all together. They  need to fix the slipping and it would fine. I have a bear paw now.
