I use zirconia belts on my belt sander..they last a lot longer than AO belts, so I think it would be a good choice for your drum sander too

Scott I got my last few shipments from here and the belts are good for the edge sander and the drum sander paper is good too.  Been real pleased with it. I got the Zirconia

Zirconia X 3.
Lasts longer, less clogging.

I buy from Industrial Abrasives Co. I'm cheap and at these prices I buy bulk AO belts even for knife building. When they get worn I switch direction for a time or two and then toss!

I tried the 36 grit ceramics, disc and belt. If you want to get something done quick, they do it fast.
