That's just awesome! Nice work John.

Ha ha! I looked at your previous post and thought..."Nice looking skins. Really unique." Thanks for sharing that tip...just might have to try that out in the near future!
Man that's slick.Nice work is right!-Joe
I was gonna ask on your "intro" thread to this bow....
Quite an artist, in many ways, John!
Brother you really have too much time on your hands.
Not only that, but your younguns are gonna be mad as heck when they find out you've been playing around with their art supplies. :biglaugh:
What are you using, crayons, graphite???
Thats AMAZING! Thanks for sharing. Now the million questions start. Like Mike above asked what are using for the "crayons"?
Wow! I think it looks great.
Thanks folks. I've been wanting to do this for a while. I like copperhead looks but not big on killing snakes just for aesthetics. Plus they are dammed 'spensive.
Those are "Conti Crayons".
so how do you seal it, and make it a permanent fixture.
Polyurethane I hope. This is the first time I've done it.
Fooled me! Looked like the real thing on the other post! I love the idea - I really don't like killing snakes either and that looks great. Let us know how it seals up.
Your going to have to show me these conti crayons. looks like ocre. really cool art work.
Very neat, John.
Here's some more on Conte Crayons http://www.dickblick.com/products/conte-crayons/
now i know how to make beautiful my new swap bow.
good work done there.
thanks...
best.
John I have always know you were an artist in wood and now crayons as well. Very impressive.
It does look nice.
Very nice! Thats just my style.
That's pretty slick just goes to show there's a lot of talented craftsman and artist here. Very nice job

The more I look at it the better I like it. Might be better than real skins!
How'd the finish work go John?
It really pops with the poly on it. I took pics but haven't uploaded yet. I'll finish this weekend and post them.
Looking forward to seeing it.
Good to hear.
The best thing about that bow for me is the natural overlays.
