Title: Quiver mounts for a wood bow
Post by: LittleBen on February 13, 2013, 11:37:00 AM
Have I lost my mind here? Has anyone used the threaded quiver mount inserts in a wood bow?

I'm just finishing up a little knock around red oak recurve, I'm thinking it'd be nice to have a bow mounted quiver. Make a little turkey hunting/3-D setup out of it.

So far it's already got a sight window cut to center, so I've only got maybe 3/4" wide X 1.5" deep (from back to belly) sight window to drill into. I'm concerned that I may weaken the sight window too much and have it snap. I could always add 1 or more thin laminates of hickory to the outside of the sight window to add some strength I guess. I don't really care what it looks like.

The bow is 62" and should be around 40-45lbs.

Has anyone had any experience with this? or similar? I know I could go with a back quiver etc., but its easier to have one less thing to carry, especially with a backpack and/or a pop-up blind.
