Hey Guys, I'm thinking of using fuller plast finish on my bows, I was wondering if any of you have worked with it? I have a gravity feeder spray gun and was wondering how much to use on one bow? If somebody has used it I would love a call and talk about it. PM me your phone #.

Fullerplast is a great finish system but if I were you I would use Thunderbird. To me and from info I have gathered when I was looking at the differences is more chip resistant and harder than Fullerplast. First put on a couple coats of the gloss finish becuae its harder and if you want to end up with a non-gloss finish either use the satin.
Once Fuller Plast is dried no chemical will remove the stuff. It must either be chiped off or sanded down....ONE SHOT... :) :) :) :D

I have used fullerplast, I really like it. Never used a gravity type gun but I don't see that being a problem. Dries fast, hard, water proof. Like Lewis, that's true for any finish, use gloss first then matte it last coats. you can do this with same can of finish...skim off the top before stirring, you get gloss. Stir well, you get satin. Skim off the bottom without stirring, you get matte.
I believe Bear always used Fullerplast, as well as Appleby's for their tables. Designed for wooden propellers, so it's tough.

Hi guy's one note I would add.All finishes work well for what they are disigned for.And most we use have been around for some time and have proven there use...But proper applacation and dry time along with the proper heat range when applying is key also.Make sure to fallow the manufacture instrucions as close as possible...bowdoc
I use Fuller Plast. I have heard that Thunderbird is harder but takes much longer to dry.
The biggest problem with Fuller Plast is that you have to buy it by the gallon. I bought a gallon in the late 80s and sprayed about 40 bows with about half of it. I'd guess I could spray 60 to 80 bows with a gallon. That would be 4 or 5 coats pr bow.
Coats are to be applied within 4 hours of each other and the only problem I have ever had with it is when I waited to long to put the last coat on.
