Title: RATTLER SKIN APPLICATION ON LIMBS
Post by: lad on December 29, 2012, 12:33:00 AM
Hi there - Saw a set of Trad tech glass wood limbs that had Rattlesnake skin applied to them. Anyone know how to put them on the factory glass limb?  I have done it to raw wood bow using titebond 111 glue and then bow finish but that would not work over glass limb I don't think.  thanks for help

Lad,

I applied snake skins to my glass limbs for my take down recurve.  I applied them just as you stated above.  I roughed the glass up with 150 grit sand paper, laid a bead of TBIII down, laid the skins down, waited until dry and cleaned up the edges.  After that finish them however, spray urethane, TruOil, etc.  Mine are holding up very well.  See my image to the left by my name.  Good luck.

Yep. TBIII over glass works very well.

thanks to you two for responding. Did not think the TB111 would stick.  I sure like the snake skin limbs. Great natural camo.
