Tonight, I put the last touches on my first bow, a red oak board bow, and only lack sanding and staining it.
I am absolutely hooked!!! Will post pics after stained, but she shoots where I point her, and looks good doing it!
My only problem with it is that it has a bit of propeller that worries me some, any suggestions?
Post pics of the propeller, with the bow strung, unstrung, and close ups of the tips when strung so we can see how much the string wants to come off.
Congrats. Its a great feeling to make a bow that actually shoots and then one that shoots and looks good too.
A little twist won't hurt it much at all. Sometimes you have to leave well enough alone!
Congrats on your first. As said some twist is ok. Post pics if you can.
Congrats on the bow and the addiction:)
OH NO, NOT ANOTHER BOWYER!! The infection is spreading. :scared:
I hear that there is no cure!
Oh what a slippery slope you have just stepped on.
Haha, john, david, and d.
I think I'm ok with it, it is at least a little cheaper than guns...a little. :archer:
Finally got photobucket to cooperate, so here are some pics of my first attempt at bowyering (sorry if they are oversized, having to do all my net stuff from my phone).
Here she is strung...
