How many 5" banana feathers do you get out of full length feathers?

Cleve,

You will normally get on Good 5" feather out of one full length.  You may get a so so second feather of 5" out of the left over or maybe not.  What I do is try to get one 5 inch and one 4" or 2 4" feathers out of ever full length.  I 4 fletch with the 4" feathers and 3 fletch with the 5" most usually.  I would definitely recommend getting a 4" chopper to make full use out of all the feather.  If nothing else, they would make good trading fodder.  Let me know when you get your box of goodies from me.  How are you feeling??

God Bless,

Brian

I limit it to one quality "A-grade"  nanner per each full length feather. You can squeeze two nanners out of a single full length feather, but the quill on the "B-grade" nanner is usually on the thin side, as is the feather itself.
