Been lookin forever for a good draw knife, and tend to shy away from auction sites (like to see it before i buy it), but had this good find i'm totally stoked about.
She looked pretty rough, didn't really know what i was getting, (most of the good lookin knives were going for more than my budget allowed). But for $12 plus shipping i figured it was worth a shot!

Apparently the guy selling it didn't know what he had, didn't think it had ever been sharpened, etc. Well, here she is after a good cleaning and oiling!!

And notice the make :D

The blade is nice and clean with no pits, and seems just sharp/dull enough to do some good osage drawknifin!!!!

Nice find. I paid $10 bucks at a flee market a couple of years ago for a folding Greenlee...felt like I stole from the poor fella!

Nice find, I'll bet that will be put to good use in your hands.

I keep hearn bout all these flea market finds, we even have a pretty large flea market close by similar to canton (bout 30 acres of booths), but for all my lookn i never found one at a flea market. Glad i finally found one. This is the one tool i've needed more than any other. Also found a router and table, nearly new, for $35 on craigs that i picked up yesterday for making arrow shafts :D Now that felt like stealing (esp cuz i was in and out in less than 3 minutes!)
Anyhow, you know i couldn't resist making some shavings this morn ;)

I'll keep that in mind Roy, but i think i'll give it a go. Let's see... the blade points away from you... right? :knothead:

My dad just found me a greenlee for $8 at a flea market. I guess it was cheaper cause the name was stamped twice so you can't really read "greenlee." Maybe they are like coins though....worth more with a double die mark?

that's awesome, and you didn't have to pay shipping like i did! Who knows? get'r cleaned up and put on the auction as "rare double-stamped greenlee draw knife" ;) Better yet, make some shavings :)
