Title: glass strand plate
Post by: inksoup on April 24, 2012, 03:41:00 AM
well i do not know if this is the right term for this but i have found presses and made as plate glass strand which is 1.5 mm thickness.

i am thinking to apply this to my bow as a backing. and also i would like to apply it to other side of the limbs as well like applying horns just to support to woods.

question is: is there anybody has been used this material as backing? does it work? i have tried with glass strands before. it is fantastic material to use as backing but using it as a plate, hmm need an advice.

best.

ps and excuse:
i have post this to pow wow accidently should be in bowyers bench. can admins move this to there?
could not find remove or move facility here.

oh finally found a proper term for it.

it is fiber glass reinforced plastic FRP panel

looks like this but mine is flat.

seller told me, any strong glue can be applied on epoxy is much better.

well

thanks.

i think the fibers are chopped in roofing /building FRP products---might work though--but sand the glueing sufaces--
       good luck
