Title: How long will Fullerplast last
Post by: Troy Breeding on April 15, 2012, 01:02:00 PM
Just found a half gallon of Fullerplast and a full bottle of catalist.

It's been in storage for several years, close to 7 if I remember right.

Opened the can and everything looks good. No flim on top or anything. still as clear as the day I opened the can.

Just wondering if it's OK to use it.

I built a new bow lastyear and used spar varnish on it. I'm not happy with the yellowing. I want to sand it clean and spray it with the Fullerplast if it's OK.

Troy, I would be hesitant to use it without first mixing some up and putting on a test piece to make sure it will dry properly.

Do you have any of the Synol thinner to break it down with? You need about a 50-50 mix finish/thinner and the correct amount of catalyst to activate it with.(using a spraygun)The fast thinner will setup quicker, so on hot days I use the medium.Good Luck!

Hoof,

I'm supposed to have some of the thinner I got with the Fullerplast around somewhere. Maybe I can find it as well.

Couldn't fine the thinner that I got with the Fuller Plast so I decided to give it a test run with acetone. Dry time to the touch was alittle over 30 minutes, but it looks good. I also sprayed it on really thick. I'll check the results in the morning to see if it changes and how tough it is.
